WHY I LOVE THIS HEIRLOOM
OAKLEAF LETTUCE is a beautiful, frilly shaped loose-leaf lettuce variety that does well in both heat and cold.. The tender leaves of Royal Oakleaf form beautiful green rosettes. It resists turning bitter well, and it provides a terrific cut-and-come-again harvest. Compact and quick-growing; harvest good-sized plants in six weeks. Royal Oakleaf lettuce is tolerant of hotter climates as it bolts slower than other Oakleaf varieties, however when germinating the seeds require cooler temperatures. Did you know that lettuce first originated in Egypt but this variety was first listed in 1771.
