WHY I LOVE THESE HEIRLOOMS

WHY I LOVE THESE HEIRLOOMS

MUNCHER cucumber is a Lebanese type with smooth, glossy green fruit 12cm long by 2cm across. Like other Lebenese cucumbers this variety has sparse white spines, although these can easily be removed by kitchen scourer. This variety produces heavily on compact vines making these cucumbers excellent for container gardening. These cucumbers are a non-bitter variety and can be eaten at any stage of growth. They make great pickles and is excellent for fresh eating as well.  Muncher Burpless Cucumber can be traced back to its parent species, Cucumis sativus, which is believed to have originated in the region of South Asia, including India and Pakistan. First domesticated in ancient times they were grown for their culinary uses as well as for their medicinal properties.

TASTING NOTE: Crisp & crunchy

HOMEMADE PICKLE cucumbers are also known as Southern Homemade Pickles and are the best crunchy dill pickles you have ever tasted! They are vigorous, high yielding, solid, crisp medium green fruit with small white spines. Pick at 3cm for tiny sweet pickles or grow to 10cm for dills and spears. Pickling cucumbers have been used for thousands of years and were first documented in the Tigris Valley in India in 2030 BC.

TASTING NOTE: Small & crunchy

LEMON cucumbers have round 5-7cm spherical fruits with yellow, gold skin that is thin and tender with some striping and mottling and has tiny bristles that are edible but can easily be removed. The inner flesh is pale green to yellow with edible seeds and has a mild, sweet taste with a cool, crisp texture. Lemon cucumbers are believed to have originated in India and the Middle-East in the 16th century as referenced by ancient Middle Eastern texts.

TASTING NOTE: Fruity & fresh
